Congratulations to the Bowls Hastings Hornets for winning the District Shield beating Omarunui at Taradale this afternoon. Singles player Merv Brown set a target to chase winning his singles 21-8 before the pairs came from behind to win by one. Omarunui got the triples on the board winning by 2 after being all square playing the last end. The fours were nip and tuck all game with Hastings holding a one pint advantage when Omarunui conceded.
