The 7’s finished about 6.30, the 7th round having to be partly played.

In the 6th round Havelock North played Hastings. At that stage Hastings were in the lead on 33 points and Havelock North were second on 31 points, less than a win behind.

In the Singles Jon Pearce (H Nth) easily beat Paul Harrison (Hstgs) 21-6; but Hastings won the Pairs and 4’s relatively easily (by 11 & 9 respectively).

So Hastings went into the last round 5 points (or 2 clear wins ahead). Hastings played Bay View and Havelock North played Kia Toa (who ultimately finished 6th & 7th Respectively).

Both Finalists won their 3 games by similar scores, which meant Hastings prevailed and will represent Hawke’s Bay at the BNZ Interclub later this season.
