The final of the 2023 District Shield was played at Bowls Hastings on Friday, 28th July 2023

Winners of Section 1 (Bowls Hastings) played the winners of Section 2 (Bowls Waipukurau) in the 4 disciplines.

The results were as follows:

Singles – Bowls Hastings (Paul Harrison) beat Waipukurau (Vaughan Marks) 21-7

Pairs – Waipukurau (James Burne(s) & Bevan Webb) b Hastings (Dwayne Cameron(s) & Ian Mason) 13-11

Triples – Hastings (Pat Golder(s), Tony Terry & Hein Pharenqua) b Waipukurau (Pat McCleary(s), Barry Fuller & Mike Mann) 25-12

Fours - Hastings (Mike Isaacson(s), Merv Brown, Peter Jones & Craig Drummond) b Waipukurau (Peter White(s), Mark Bland, Wayne Menzies & Barrie Herbison) 16-7

Bowls Hastings won the District Shield 3 games to 1.

Previous year's Title Holders were Havelock North.

It was a good evening watched by a number of spectators including people from South Canterbury and Manawatu and in the presence of 3 Board Members.
